Getting to Know Graduate Education

A graduate degree is not required to apply for the Department of State, however, having such a degree could increase your starting salary.

Because there are a variety of positions within the Department of State, there is not one specific graduate program to pursue. If you are considering attending graduate school, research the careers in the Department of State that interest you, and seek out areas of study that could be beneficial for those roles.​
