Career Services stands in solidarity with the Black community and the Black Lives Matter movement. We extend our support and deepest sympathies to our students, colleagues, friends, family members, and neighbors experiencing increased trauma due to systemic racism. Acts of violence, racism, and intolerance have been a reality that many of us have been complicit in, whether directly or indirectly. The tragic murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, Tony McDade, and others clearly demonstrate that doing better is long overdue. They deserved better. Black people deserve better.

Career Services is committed to building more inclusive, anti-racist practices that will better support and uplift Black, Indigenous, and students of color. We envision a better future that is anti-racist, just, and equitable -- one in which all of our community members have access to the tools they need to succeed. While we may agree in principle on this, we must commit more intentionally to make this happen. We still have a lot of work to do. We must examine our existing systems and biases, break our silence, and realign our actions to build new structures for social change. We must hold ourselves accountable to practice intentional acts of anti-racism through our actions and courageous convictions.

For anyone who is in need of support, there are many campus partners to assist with your needs:
