Internships
The Internship Program at Career Services maintains two binders of employer internship information for local and out-of-the-area employers in addition to employer directories. Drop-in hours: Monday through Friday 8:30am-11:45am and 1pm-4:30pm.

Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience
Provides overseas technical assignments for science and engineering students primarily in technical firms in Scandinavian countries where English is spoken.
Research Experiences for Undergraduates Program (REU)
The REU sites are provided by the National Science Foundation for students in all fields of science, mathematics, and engineering. Each research site consists of a group of ten or so undergraduates, who work in the research programs of the host institution working closely with faculty, post-docs, and graduate students. Contact each site directly for specific information and application procedures and deadlines.

National Institutes of Health - Undergraduate Scholarship Program (UGSP)
Offers scholarship awards for tuition and educational and living expenses up to $20,000 per academic year for students from disadvantaged backgrounds who are committed to careers in biomedical research. In return, recipients serve as paid employees in NIH research laboratories during the summer and after graduation. Deadline late March.

The School for Field Studies (SFS)
Provides hands-on field work in environmental problem solving for academic credit through its fall and spring semester programs and intense 30 day summer courses at the following six international SFS Field Study Centers located in Australia, Costa Rica, Kenya, British West Indies, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Republic of Palau and Baja, Mexico.
The Student Conservation Association
Places more than 1200 Resource Assistants year
round in 12 week expense paid volunteer internships
with
our national areas in most states including Alaska
and Hawaii involving land stewardship and wildlife
conservation projects. Program also offers 70
some Conservation Associate positions involving
a six
month to a year commitment and more in-depth

Wildlands Studies Program, SFSU
Wildlands Studies, a unit of SFSU's College of Extended Learning, offers on site field research projects throughout the US and around the world.
