Local Area Internships

Search GauchoLink for local internships. Here are some helpful tips:

  1. Log in using your username and password or create and account if you don't already have one.
  2. Click on JOB/INTERNSHIPS (Note: IGNORE major, degree, and industry categories.)
  3. Choose several JOB FUNCTIONS of interest. (Note: Law related internships are posted under The Research- Other.)
  4. Check CALIFORNIA and INTERNSHIP (Ignore all other boxes)
  5. Uncheck multischool and on-campus interviewing to see SCHOOL or LOCAL AREA listings only.
  6. Click on the listings you find interesting.Review duties and qualifications required including any additional Information on how to apply. Review organization's web site if available.

Conduct your own Google search for local area industries you seek (Example: Santa Barbara Real Estate). Inquire directly with firm's owner or human resources department as to possible internship projects. Obtain our handout on Developing Your Own Internships in the Career Employment Area.

Volunteer Internships with Local Community Agencies
Search alphabetically using topics of interest. Most non-profits have volunteer internship projects in areas of event planning; public relations; direct service; and educational outreach.
