Applying & Getting Credit For Internships

It is strongly recommended that you attend a one hour INTERNSHIPS WORKSHOP a soon as your schedule permits. Learn ALL INTERNSHIP options including how to stand out in an interview; up load a resume to GauchoLink, and obtain credit or internship certification. Click HERE for workshop schedule of dates and times. A resume critique by a career advisor is also strongly advised! Prepare and have a resume critiqued by one of our career drop-in advisors in the Career Resource Room. (Resume handout available as well as resume workshops.)

  1. Upload resume and cover letter using GAUCHOLINK services.

  2. Click on “Apply to Employer” in the GAUCHOLINK system for the internships you seek. Attach your resume with a brief email note on why you are interested; your availability and desire to meet with them and possible times. (Alternative Method: Print internship listings of interest and email your note of interest with your resume attachment.)

  3. FOLLOW UP with a call and/or email to schedule an in person interview. Bring an extra copy of your resume and class schedule.

  4. PICK UP our Internship Guide to Interviewing and/or attend an Interview Workshop.

  5. PICK UP our handouts for Obtaining UCSB Departmental Credit

  6. OBTAIN A LETTER OF SPONSORSHIP needed to apply to media and film related internship employers requiring academic credit. Our letter makes it legal for you to volunteer for free without paying for credit you can’t get or don’t need. Stop by our Career Employment Desk if needed.

  7. Download Internship Forms HERE.
