Reference Letter Overview

Opening a file

Get a Release of Information form which is either printable here: Release of Info or available at the Career Services office.

Fill out the form completely and return it to the Career Services office. We will set up a file for you as soon as we receive this form.

Reference Letter Authorization

Get a Reference Letter Authorization form that is either confidential or non-confidential (depending on what you chose) which is either printable here: Confidential / Non-Confidential or available at the Career Services office.

Fill out the top portion of this form and give it to your recommender. They will need to complete the bottom portion and send it to the Career Services office along with their letter.

Mailing

Email careerletters@sa.ucsb.edu with the destination address or come by the Career Services office with pre-printed labels.

All letters held on file will be sent unless requested otherwise.

Fees

Activation is free for UCSB students up to three months after their date of graduation.

Reactivation / activation fee for one year of service post graduation: $50

Mailing fees are taken at time of service. See a full list of options here: Fees
