Career
Peer Advisors
Career Peers are employed for 10 hours per week and need to commit for
the entire academic year. They also need to be available for training
the week before classes begin in Fall Quarter.
Responsibilities
include:

Develop working
knowledge of resource materials,
computer equipment, and computer
programs in the Career Resource
Room.

Assist students
in the beginning stages of their
career planning process to locate
career materials in the Career
Resource Room, and provide appropriate
referrals to advisors, counselors,
or other campus agencies as needed.

Assist students
with GAUCHOLINK registration
and web based searches for part-time,
internship and career employment
options based on student interest,
class and skill levels.

Trouble shoot
questions for seniors applying
for positions through the Campus
Interview Program.

Maintain Career
Library including solicitation,
revision, and organization of
current materials.

Maintain and refer
students to appropriate binders,
handouts, and resources relevant
to students’ needs.

Actively develop
a working knowledge of agency
and campus referral sources in
the areas of career development,
internship, and job search.

Conduct formal/informal
presentations to faculty, staff
and students regarding career
planning resources and activities.

Assist Career
Counselors with program development
and implementation of career
specialty areas.

Participate in
recruitment, hiring, and training
of new Career Peer Advisors.
-
Provide tours
of Career Resource Room as requested.
