Registration and Attendance Rules
Registration
By filling out and submitting this registration form, you have registered for the Biztech Career Fair. We do have a limited number of spots and registrants will be admitted on a first come first serve basis. Submitting this registration does not mean that you will be a participant in the fair. If our employer capacity has been reached prior to your registration, your registration will be submitted, but you will be on the waitlist. If you are on the waitlist you will be admitted to the fair if and when there are any cancellations.
Late Registration Fee
The final date to register for the Biztech Career Fair is Thursday, April 9. Registrations made after this date will be assessed a $50 late registration fee. If you are waitlisted and we are unable to admit you to the Biztech Career Fair you will not be charged any fees for registration.
Payment
Payment for the full amount due for the Biztech Career Fair must be received by Thursday, April 9. If we do not receive full payment by this date, then we will not confirm your registration and will not allow you to attend the career fair.If you have a concern about whether you will be able to meet this payment deadline please contact us ahead of time.
Cancellations
If you must cancel your fair registration, please do so as soon as possible. The final date to cancel and still receive a refund is Monday, April 13. Cancellations made after this date will not be refunded. By accepting these terms you acknowledge that by not canceling ahead of time, you deny us the ability to schedule another employer to take your place.
Refunds
Refunds will only be issued for companies that cancel their registration by Monday, April 13. Refunds will not be given for any other circumstance.
In the event of poor weather conditions which require us to cancel the fair, the registration fee will not be refunded, but will be kept as credit towards participation in a future fair. Santa Barbara does not frequently experience weather which will require us to cancel a fair, however, it is possible.
No Shows
If you are registered for the Biztech Career Fair and do not attend, your registration will be considered a “no show.” Any registration fees that have been collected will not be refunded and these fees collected cannot be used as credit towards a future fair.
Parking
One complimentary parking pass will be issued per company. Representatives will be directed as to where we recommend they park. If they park in another location, then we are not liable for any parking tickets assessed. We are not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged property. Additional parking passes may be purchased from permit dispensers throughout the campus for $8. This is not an expense which we will reimburse.
Utilities
Wireless internet and electricity may be available in some venues for career fairs. You can request this service, but this request does not mean that they will be provided to you if it is not possible to do so. We will do our best to position your company in a place that allows you the utilities you want, but we cannot guarantee that it will happen.
Table Arrangements
We do our best to arrange tables so that attendees are surrounded by others in the same or similar industry. This is often the most helpful to both employers and students. If you have a special request for where you would like to be placed, please submit your request in writing to CareerEvents@sa.ucsb.edu . We will do our best to seat you accordingly.
Representatives
If you sign up to bring a certain amount of representatives and decide later that you need to bring more or less, please notify us in writing prior to the event by sending an email to CareerEvents@sa.ucsb.edu. If you sign up to bring extra representatives and do not bring as many to the event, the fee charged for these representatives will not be refunded. However, if you bring more representatives than you originally signed up to bring, you will be assessed a $30 charge for each additional representative.
